Criminal defense
When there is an investigation file or an arrest warrant before the person is formally summoned, every day that passes without a defense narrows the options.
Investigation files, arrest warrants, amparo with a stay, precautionary measures, oral trial
What we handle
And once the case has reached the courts, the technical defense still has room to change the outcome. We look for an investigation file or an arrest warrant from the start of the proceedings, before the person under investigation is formally summoned. When we detect it in time, we file for amparo with a stay, which allows the person to appear without being detained and avoids the pretrial detention that most people without this defense face. We also take the matter when there is already an order binding the accused over for trial, even with pretrial detention in place. We seek a change of precautionary measure, either directly before the judge or through amparo, and when the case requires it, we take it to oral trial to obtain an acquittal.

Frequently asked questions
-
How do I know if there's already an arrest warrant or an investigation file against me?
We locate investigation files and arrest warrants from the start of the proceedings, before the person under investigation is formally summoned. Every day that passes without a defense narrows the options.
-
If I'm arrested, do I really only have 48 hours?
The reference term after an arrest is 48 hours. Within that window we file for amparo with a stay, which allows the person to appear without being detained and avoids the pretrial detention that most people without this defense face.
-
I'm already bound over for trial with pretrial detention. Can anything still be done?
Yes: we also take the matter when there is already an order binding the accused over for trial, even with pretrial detention in place. We seek a change of precautionary measure directly before the judge or through amparo.
-
Is it worth going to oral trial or should I just appeal?
When the case requires it, we take it to oral trial to obtain an acquittal. The technical defense still has room to change the outcome even once the case has reached the courts.
